A photograph can’t highlight specific details of its subject, nor can it show you exactly what the subject is made of. Illustrations can. Illustrations become essential when a person, place or object is no longer available for photographing, as well as for when a photograph is difficult to decipher.
Illustrations can:
| |
Highlight specific aspects or areas of an object |
Help viewers visualize objects and locations that no longer exist or may exist in the future |
Show areas of interest and whole subjects from multiple angles, such as from the inside out or from a birds-eye perspective
Make it easy for the viewer to compare two similar items
